CSR PERFORMANCE 2021* Public-Private collaboration to collect and recycle post-consumer PET bottles into Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Healthcare Workers With an abundance of plastic waste but a scarcity of PPE, we used our expertise in PET plastic by turning trash into treasure. IVL collaborated with more than 10 partners to collect post-consumer PET bottles which were recycled into PPE for healthcare workers. The high-quality PPE coveralls produced offer better protection, are reusable and washable up to 20 times, suitable for use while treating low and medium risk patients, and were certified by Thailand’s Food andDrugAdministration and theThailandTextile Institute. This initiative improvedpublic awareness about PET recycling and enhanced IVL’s standing as a leading PET recycler. It also secured our supply chain ensuring long-termstrategic involvement and partnerships with our stakeholders creatingmutual business benefits. In determining the effectiveness of this program and lessons learned from relevant stakeholders, we evaluated the overall Social ReturnOn Investment (SROI), including the environmental and social impacts achieved.
